Why Are We Different?

WE WORK AT KEEPING PEOPLE TOGETHER AND IN THEIR OWN HOMES

New Dawn Care believe that dignity and independence are the key factors to living with advancing age and we endeavour to provide both whether in our Care Centre or in your own home.

We believe the primary difference with New Dawn Care to traditional care companies is financial but also staffing and environment.

Financially our ethos is ‘you only pay for what you receive’. Already within the development we are delivering care and support into individual homes based on need. This varies from half an hour a month to 3 hours a day.

A pleasant surprise for many people who have spoken with us and have moved onto the development is that they can receive up to 4 hours of personal care a day enabling them to stay in their own homes for less than it costs to go into a care home with 24 hour care. They have the added reassurance of knowing that a member of staff is available 24 hours a day for any emergencies outside of this schedule. For a couple thinking of moving into long term care the potential savings of this type of support are significant.

Our environment is unique. The development is situated in 5 acres of sloping land with views toward the Stretton Hills and along the Corvedale. Many of our properties are placed around a central half acre garden which is currently being landscaped to include footpaths, seating areas and water features. Being a cul-de-sac with a footpath access only into the local town the development is quiet and safe. The residents are forming close friendships and plan a social event each month with no pressure to join in, just an open invitation.

The Care Centre once complete will offer almost half the bedrooms with a private lounge and kitchenette plus an en-suite. For some, living in a ‘Care Home’ becomes inevitable but it doesn’t have to be without a measure of independence and privacy.

With regard to staffing we pay higher than average wages for Care in order to attract the best staff together with on-going training and support. We also believe that our customers should be comfortable with their carers and aim wherever possible to keep the same carers with each customer to avoid the insecurity of not knowing who will turn up for the job on a daily basis.
